About me

I am a recent graduate of Syracuse University with a dual degree in magazine, news and digital journalism and policy studies. I worked at the university's independent student newspaper, The Daily Orange, for three years. Over that time, I worked from being an assistant news editor, to news editor and then finally managing editor throughout my senior year. I ran multiple investigations at the paper, writing about a toxic marketing department and pseudoscience's continued existence at an R1 research institution.

Outside of my work at The D.O., I had an internship with City & State New York, a political magazine, throughout the spring 2023 semester. While at the magazine, I collaborated on a series of front page features ranging from a profile on SUNY Chancellor John B. King to an evaluation of New York state's dependence on nuclear energy. I also worked on quicker hits for the magazine's newsletter First Read Tonight.

I've also taken up freelancing throughout college, pitching stories to both local newspapers and magazines. I widened my coverage area as a freelancer, covering local internet personalities and suburban queer culture along with my more typical political reporting. That political reporting included a front cover feature for City & State NY on the state's ability to reach its climate goals and an evaluation of a tool tracking how politicians interact with their constituents. Until Aug. 2, I will be a fellow with the Carnegie-Knight News21 program based out of Arizona State University.
